Seeking women firefighters concerned about climate change

Posted on 13 Mar, 2019

The Climate Media Centre (www.climatemediacentre.org.au) is seeking women firefighters concerned about climate change.

The impact of Climate Change on the frequency and intensity of bushfires is becoming increasingly clear. We are seeking women firefighters who can talk about this from their own experience to the media.

Our aim here at the Climate Media Centre is to get that message about climate change out into the media through the direct experiences of real” people, not just firefighters but also farmers, health workers, sports people, insurers etc.

Former NSW Fire and Rescue Commissioner, Greg Mullins is one of our leading spokespeople at the Climate Council. He speaks often in the media on the impact of climate change and his observations of how firefighters are increasingly on the front line of more intense and dangerous bushfires.

If you are interested in becoming a potential spokesperson on this issue, we would be happy to train you how to engage with the media during interviews – all for free – in order to get that message out there.
