The Board of Women and Fire­fight­ing Aus­trala­sia Inc. (WAFA) invites all cur­rent mem­bers of the Asso­ci­a­tion to the Annu­al Gen­er­al Meet­ing (AGM), which will be con­duct­ed prin­ci­pal­ly via tele­con­fer­ence on Mon­day 7 Novem­ber 2022 at 7pm (AEDT*). Please RSVP by email­ing the Board Sec­re­tary by Sun­day 30 Octo­ber 2022, after which the tele­con­fer­ence details will be pro­vid­ed.

Items on the Agen­da are as follows:

• Con­fir­ma­tion of the min­utes of the 2021 AGM
• WAFA Annu­al Report, includ­ing audit­ed finan­cial statements
• Elec­tion of Board Members
• Dec­la­ra­tion of Elect­ed Board Members
• Elec­tion of Office Bearers
• Any oth­er business

All WAFA mem­bers are wel­come to attend but only finan­cial mem­bers of the Asso­ci­a­tion are eli­gi­ble to vote. In accor­dance with the Con­sti­tu­tion, mem­bers are also enti­tled to vote by proxy — if you are unable to attend in per­son and would like some­one to vote on your behalf, please fill in the attached proxy form and for­ward to the Board Sec­re­tary by Fri­day 4 Novem­ber 2022.

Call for Nom­i­na­tions

The Board wel­comes nom­i­na­tions from inter­est­ed mem­bers to join the Board of Women and Fire­fight­ing Aus­trala­sia Inc. for a term of two (2) years. The Board Mem­ber Duties state­ment pro­vides an overview of the expec­ta­tions and com­mit­ment required of Board Mem­ber and Office Bear­ers.

With WAFA2023 to be co-locat­ed with AFAC2023 in Bris­bane, there is plen­ty to get involved in for the next two years, so if you have a pas­sion for advanc­ing diver­si­ty and inclu­sion in the fire ser­vices and a dri­ve for get­ting things done, con­sid­er nom­i­nat­ing for the Board today!
