The Fire fit train­ing guide and train like a fire­fight­er video series have been specif­i­cal­ly devel­oped to assist you with your fit­ness journey. 

The Women and Fire­fight­ing Aus­trala­sia (WAFA) are host­ing Phys­i­cal Apti­tude Test(PAT) infor­ma­tion days for the Fire and Res­cue NSW 2023 recruit­ment campaign.

Ses­sions are female-spe­cif­ic and will be held at the new FRN­SW Emer­gency Ser­vices Acad­e­my. Ses­sions are 3 hours in dura­tion and will include hands-on inter­ac­tion with the PAT task course fol­lowed by a strength and con­di­tion­ing work­shop focus­ing on effec­tive phys­i­cal prepa­ra­tion for the PAT.

Impor­tant Infor­ma­tion for Participants

• You will be asked to take a COVID-19 rapid anti­gen test on entry.
• You must have read and under­stood all the infor­ma­tion on this page.
• You must com­plete a Phys­i­cal Activ­i­ty Readi­ness Ques­tion­naire (PAR‑Q) pri­or to par­tic­i­pat­ing and bring with you on the day. Your PAR‑Q will be cit­ed by FRN­SW on the day.
• Bring stan­dard gym/​exercise clothes, includ­ing jog­gers, water and towel.
• Bring leather-style rig­gers gloves (pic­tured below).
• Only PAT Infor­ma­tion Day par­tic­i­pants may attend these events i.e. no
• bystanders, fam­i­ly or friends.
• If you can no longer attend, please can­cel to free the spot for some­one else

Fire and Res­cue NSW is com­mit­ted to ensur­ing the health and safe­ty of every­one who enters our sites and are proac­tive in reduc­ing the risks of COVID-19 trans­mis­sion. Risk man­age­ment pro­ce­dures are in place for staff and vis­i­tors who attend Fire and Res­cue NSW Sta­tions, work sites, train­ing facil­i­ties and offices.

Upon arrival at our Emer­gency Ser­vices Acad­e­my you will be required to under­go a Rapid Anti­gen Test (RAT) if you test pos­i­tive you will be asked to leave the premis­es immediately.
